Freedom Mukanga was recognised with the International Entrepreneurship Impact Award by the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (JPEC), in acknowledgement of his leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurial impact.
The award was presented during the Iowa JPEC Honors Awards Celebration held at the historic Old Capitol Museum in Iowa City on the 8th April. The event was dedicated to recognising individuals who are transforming ideas into tangible impact across communities.
Although unable to attend in person, Freedom was represented by Elizabeth Daly, whose continued mentorship and support have been instrumental since his time in Iowa. This recognition also highlights his journey as a 2022 Mandela Washington Fellowship alumnus and his ongoing work driving innovation in Zimbabwe and beyond.
The JPEC community continues to play a vital role in fostering entrepreneurship, and this award underscores the growing global footprint of African-led innovation.
