At FreedPer Scientific, we are passionate about advancing weather education, climate literacy, and innovation across Zimbabwe—and beyond. We are thrilled to announce a major milestone: St. Michael's Tongogara Secondary School in Chipinge has become the first school in the district to have a fully operational weather station!
This achievement was made possible through the incredible support of World Vision Zimbabwe, and it symbolizes a huge leap forward in empowering young minds with hands-on meteorological education.
A Journey Worth Every Kilometer
Our team embarked on an epic journey—traveling over 850 kilometers, the longest installation trip in our history—to ensure the students at St. Michael’s could access a fully functional weather station. The dedication and commitment displayed by both the FreedPer Scientific team and the school staff truly reflect the spirit of innovation and resilience that drives our mission.
Why This Matters
The installation of the weather station is not just about equipment—it's about building futures:
Hands-on Learning: Students are now actively recording, analyzing, and understanding real-time weather data, bringing their Geography lessons to life.
Climate Awareness: Greater exposure to weather patterns builds stronger knowledge of climate change and disaster preparedness.
Strengthening National Networks: Each new school weather station adds valuable data points to Zimbabwe’s broader weather observation network, enhancing forecasting accuracy and resilience strategies.
As David Kiza, a Form Two student, beautifully said:
"Now that we have a weather station at our school, we will never forget about weather instruments in exams!"
Our Vision for the Future
FreedPer Scientific is committed to bringing genuine, high-quality weather stations to more schools across Zimbabwe. We believe that by equipping the next generation with practical meteorological skills, we are helping to build a more informed, resilient, and climate-smart society.
If your school, organization, or community would like to be part of this exciting movement—we’re ready to make it happen.
